Mostar, 10 November 2025 – A working meeting was held at the premises of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton on the topic of drafting and improving the Law on Secondary Vocational Education.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Adnan Velagić, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of HNK, Mr. Sudo Marić, Assistant Minister, and members of the project team. During the meeting, key provisions of the new law were discussed, including the modernization of curricula, the improvement of practical training, and the strengthening of cooperation between educational institutions and the labor market. Representatives of the GOPA project team particularly emphasized the importance of aligning vocational education with the needs of the economy and the continuous professional development of teaching staff.

Participants agreed that the adoption of this law is of exceptional importance for strengthening the quality of vocational education in HNK. It was agreed that consultations and alignment of the draft law will continue in the coming period, and that a draft will be prepared for further adoption procedures.

This activity is part of the project “Strengthening the Vocational Education and Training System in BiH” and represents one of the ongoing activities that will continue through the next phases of the project, with the aim of further improving the legal framework and the vocational education system.
