A meeting dedicated to improving secondary vocational education was held in Goražde, organized by the Ministry of Education, Youth, Science, Culture, and Sports of the Bosnian-Podrinje Canton.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that it is necessary to build a flexible and sustainable system of secondary vocational education based on cooperation with the local community, which will adapt to the technical and technological development of the Bosnian-Podrinje Canton. Special emphasis was placed on aligning with modern vocational education policies, including work-based learning principles and standards such as the European Quality Assurance Framework (EQAVET).
Participants also highlighted the need to strengthen the capacities of teaching staff, improve the mentorship system in companies, as well as to more clearly define the obligations of all actors involved in the education process. It was pointed out that without a quality normative framework, it is not possible to achieve long-term and sustainable results.
It was concluded that accelerating the implementation of reforms is a key step towards creating a modern and functional educational system, which will be aligned with the needs of the economy of the Bosnian-Podrinje Canton and society as a whole. Such meetings represent an important segment of continuous dialogue between institutions and partners, with the aim of building a system that provides young people with concrete, applicable skills and a safer path to employment.
