Today, a joint meeting of the Project Advisory Council and Business Council was held on Igman, organised within the project “Strengthening the TVET System in Bosnia and Herzegovina.”

The meeting focused on presenting and discussing key Project results and development initiatives that have the potential to significantly contribute to improving the quality, relevance and governance of the technical and vocational education and training (TVET) system in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as strengthening its connection with labour market needs and the business community.

The following topics were presented:

  • VET Barometer – an evidence-based instrument for informing policy development;
  • Quality Assurance in line with the EQAVET Framework – a standardised approach to quality assurance in vocational education and training;
  • Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA) of Work-Based Learning – an analysis of the costs and benefits associated with work-based learning;
  • Digital Platform for Work-Based Learning (WBL) – a digital tool connecting schools and companies to support better planning and monitoring of labour market needs.

The overall conclusion was that these activities are contributing towards the development of a sustainable and high-quality vocational education and training system that is relevant to students, education institutions and the business community alike. By strengthening the links between education and the labour market, these initiatives help build a bridge between the two, with the potential to contribute in the long term to improved youth employability and increased competitiveness of the economy.

The presentations were followed by a discussion on the topics presented, providing an opportunity for Council members to share their perspectives, experiences and recommendations for further development of the Project’s initiatives.
