Representatives of the project “Strengthening Secondary Vocational Education and Training in Bosnia and Herzegovina” attended the Public Hearing on the Draft Law on Vocational Education and Training, held today in Travnik.
The hearing was organized by the Ministry of Education, Science, Youth, Culture and Sports of the Central Bosnia Canton, led by Minister Bojan Domić, with the participation of other relevant institutions, schools, and economic stakeholders.
The project team was invited to take part in this important event, having made a significant contribution to the drafting of the law and working jointly with the Ministry on solutions aimed at improving secondary vocational education in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The new law introduces:
- stronger partnerships between schools and businesses,
- formal learning agreements that protect students’ rights,
- mandatory allowances for students during practical training,
- modernization of curricula and training on state-of-the-art equipment,
- higher employability of young people immediately after graduation.
Today’s public hearing highlighted the importance of joint efforts by educational institutions, the private sector, and projects in shaping an education system that meets labor market needs and provides young people with real opportunities for success.
